Curiosity First, Purpose Always

My journey began in product management within the semiconductor industry, where I tackled complex challenges and united teams to achieve business goals. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for design.

Driven to learn, I taught myself the craft and landed my first design role. For me, design is about solving real problems by connecting people, technology, and the wider context, which is why I’m drawn to sustainability and community-focused projects.

Most recently, I worked at an electric vehicle company, contributing to a greener future. I quickly realized that simply providing solutions wasn't enough. I stepped into an unofficial DesignOps role, where I focused on consistency in design practices, improved documentation, and fostered collaboration among teams. By enhancing the integration of design with other departments, I boosted communication and efficiency, amplifying the overall impact of our design efforts. I'm excited about what lies ahead!

Grounded by the Outdoors

When I'm not designing, I’m often outdoors—trekking trails, snowboarding down mountains, sailing across open water, or freediving in the deep blue.

These activities are not just hobbies; they are vital moments for resetting, reflecting, and finding clarity. They inspire me to be intentional in my designs, my choices, and how I show up in the world.

Learning, Growing, and Finding New Ground

Learning, Growing, and Finding New Ground

After years of working in product design and product management, I discovered gaps I wanted to address—not only in my technical skills but also in the theoretical foundations of design and its connection to people and society. This realization inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Information Science and Design at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

My choice was not just about earning a degree; it was about laying a strong foundation to tackle design challenges with deeper insight and renewed confidence. At UW-Madison, I’ve had the privilege of co-leading the UX Club alongside Shelcia, creating a vibrant space where students can learn, collaborate, and elevate their design abilities. I’ve led hands-on workshops, including a Framer session, guiding students in building their UX portfolios and showcasing their creativity.

We’ve welcomed guest speakers from Amazon, Epic, and Lenovo, bridging the vital connection between academic learning and industry practice. Beyond campus, we organized industry visits, such as a trip to Fetch, where students gained invaluable insights into UX practices, team collaboration, and workplace culture.

Additionally, I’ve collaborated with Professor Jackson on the project "Amplifying the Voices of Black/Latinx Communities in Policy." Through UX research and design, we uncover insights from community leaders and NGOs, striving to foster meaningful and actionable change. This chapter of my journey has been about filling knowledge gaps, building connections, and creating spaces where thoughtful design can truly transform lives.
